SOAP a failure , heard that a thousand times
Sun technologist calls SOAP a failure and quite a lot of other experts in the field.
It's
too broad and look, a perfect solution for business layer interaction
became a mess. Thats what you get when its too broad in its
interpretation. Sounds like we're talking about a Bible or some other
religious testament. When its open to interpretation it will eventually
split into its own "great ways". Products evolve on top of the SOAP and
so on.
Now that Cisco is developing its own light weight SOAP to
handle way more messaging. Perhaps they will lead the way. Or perhaps
we (developers) will keep in going finding other solutions.

Anyone noticed spam at Gmail?
When Gmail was release , i don't remember receiving a single spam mail for over a year.
Now it seems that some of that spam and obvious ones are passing through. Thankfully just one or two a day.
However it seems a bit odd that all of a sudden they started to pass through that massive filtering that they have.
I
have a hunch that by offering commercial gmail, the servers that
process commercial accounts are perhaps a bit smarter or tuned better,
whatever it is , the spam letters started to come in almost the next
day Google released their commerical package.

Google to start a 3D world, about time
A new project/site called Lively has started off to enter the world of virtual reality.
A mature and known such service is a Second Life , which only allows you to login and work from their site.
Google's
Lively will let you embed your little world onto your page or facebook
, which should be a turning point for its exposure.
Though
personally Second Life's API was hard to find and contains little
information, Google Should expose their Lively API in the nearest
future.
It seems that the similar technology as Google Earth for web is used in this project as well.
For all of you that do not know, Google Earth widget can now be embedded into a web page and work with their API.

EJB 3.1 , even more ability for JSF
I suggest anyone to read on the EJB 3.1 by TheServerSide site .
This
part 4 is all about JSF and EJB , its getting extremely easy , with a
few lines of Annotations and you have an en injected resource.
The enterprise development is getting easier. Of course we expect a good App Server, such as Glassfish.
